Platform Terms & Community Policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026
1. Who we are
ProMentor is a mentoring platform and a product of DataDecorum.com, an agency of Audit Centric Ltd, a company registered in Scotland. In these terms, "ProMentor", "we", "us" and "our" mean Audit Centric Ltd trading through DataDecorum.com. By creating an account or using ProMentor you agree to these terms and to the community policy below.
2. Your account and pseudonymous participation
- You may take part on ProMentor under a pseudonym or chosen display name — your public profile does not have to show your legal name.
- You must still register with accurate account details (including a working email address). We use these only to operate your account, keep the platform safe, and meet our legal obligations.
- Pseudonymity is not anonymity from the law. Where section 6 applies, we may disclose account information, including identity and activity records, to the authorities.
- Individual communities may set their own identity expectations (for example, a professional community may ask members to use real names). Any such rule appears in that community's terms.
- One person per account. Do not impersonate any person, organisation or credential you do not hold.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use ProMentor.
3. Community etiquette
For everyone
- Treat every member with respect. Disagree with ideas, never with dignity.
- What is shared in a mentoring session stays in the session unless the other person agrees otherwise.
- Honour your commitments: show up on time, and reschedule early when you cannot.
- Keep conversations constructive — no spam, cold selling, or unsolicited promotion.
For mentors
- Set expectations early: cadence, availability, and what you can and cannot help with.
- Offer guidance from experience. Mentoring on ProMentor is not professional, legal, financial or medical advice, and should never be presented as such.
- Never use the mentoring relationship to solicit business, investment or anything of personal benefit.
- If a topic is beyond your depth, say so and help your mentee find a better route.
- Respect boundaries — yours and your mentee's.
For mentees
- Come prepared: know what you want from each session.
- Own your goals — your mentor guides, you do the work.
- Respect your mentor's time: cancel or reschedule as early as you can.
- Follow through on agreed actions, or be honest about why not.
- Share feedback, celebrate progress, and pay the help forward when you can.
4. Unacceptable behaviour
We do not tolerate abusive or criminal behaviour. This includes (without limitation): harassment or bullying; hate speech or discrimination; sexual misconduct; threats or violence; publishing another member's private identity or contact details without consent; fraud, scams or financial exploitation; any conduct that endangers a minor; and any other criminal activity. Attempting to evade a block, ban or other moderation action is itself a breach of these terms.
5. Moderation and enforcement
- Use the in-app tools to report a member or block them — reports are confidential and reach the community admins and, where escalated, the platform team.
- Community admins moderate their communities; the platform team oversees the platform as a whole.
- We may warn, remove content, suspend, remove a member from a community, or permanently ban an account, depending on severity. We act proportionately but we act.
- If you believe a moderation decision is wrong, contact us through the in-app Support and safety form.
6. Serious misconduct and law enforcement
Abusive and criminal behaviour may be reported to law enforcement or other competent authorities — voluntarily, where we believe conduct may be unlawful or someone may be at risk, and in response to a lawful request from the authorities. In either case we may preserve and share relevant account information, including identity and activity records, where the law allows or requires it.
7. Privacy and your data
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. In short: we collect the minimum we need, analytics run only with your consent, and you can delete your account (and the data that goes with it) from Settings at any time.
8. Your content
You own what you post. By posting it on ProMentor you give us the licence we need to display it within the platform. Do not post content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
9. No professional advice; platform provided "as is"
ProMentor connects members for mentoring. We do not vet, endorse or guarantee any mentor, mentee or advice exchanged, and we are not responsible for decisions you take based on it. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes and ending your account
We may update these terms and will notify you in the app when we do. You can stop using ProMentor at any time and delete your account from Settings; deletion follows the grace period described there.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, without depriving consumers of protections they are entitled to where they live.
